Conference “Balada Flamenca”
The Flamenco Nómada Festival is delighted to invite you to an exceptional conference led by Jean-Louis Duzert, as part of his photographic exhibition Balada Flamenca.
This event will take place on Thursday, 10 April, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, in the cultural hall of ICAM, located within the L’Olivier Bookstore.
During this unique conference, Jean-Louis Duzert will share his fascinating journey into the heart of the flamenco world. With passion and authenticity, he will recount the pivotal moments of his career, including the life-changing capture of his most iconic image: the hands of Camarón de la Isla, keeping time with the rhythm of the song.

Technical details
Jean-Louis Duzert, born in Villenave-d’Ornon, discovered his passion for photography at a young age. After completing specialized studies in Orthez, he began his career as an official photographer for the government in Paris before joining the Sud-Ouest newspaper, where he worked as a photojournalist from 1973 to 2010. Passionate about flamenco, Duzert has become a key figure in this art form, serving as the official photographer for the Flamenco Festival at the Théâtre de Nîmes and a permanent guest of the Arte Flamenco Festival in Mont-de-Marsan since its inception in 1989. His work has been exhibited in iconic cities such as Seville, Jerez, Lebrija, Madrid, Mont-de-Marsan, Nîmes, Paris, and Bordeaux, among others.
He has also published several books dedicated to flamenco, including Arte Flamenco (Festival de Mont-de-Marsan), Flamenco Flamme (Festival de Nîmes), Prohibido el cante (Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art in Seville), Alborea (journal of the Andalusian Flamenco Agency), and most recently, Balada Flamenca, published by Éditions IN8. With an authentic and passionate perspective, Jean-Louis Duzert has immortalized the essence of flamenco, establishing himself as a global reference in documenting this vibrant art form.
