Workshop Flamenco Percussion

The percussionist Nasrine Rahmani will hold a flamenco percussion workshop on 27 April. This workshop is designed for two levels: beginner and intermediate.

Beginner Level:
This level focuses on technique, compás por tangos, and rumbas.

– Cajón technique
– Styles – tangos and rumbas (4/4 rhythms)
– Hand technique (palmas)
– Cortes and cierres

Intermediate Level:
Aimed at more experienced musicians, this level will cover technique, compás por alegrías, and bulerías.

– Cajón technique
– Styles – alegrías and bulerías (12-beat rhythms)
– Hand technique (palmas)
– Cortes and cierres

The workshop will take place over one day, with a total of 2 hours and a half of training for each level.

  • Flamenco Nómada - Artistas - Nasrine Rahmani

    Nasrine Rahmani, a percussionist specializing in flamenco and Latin American percussion, she was born in Australia to a Mauritian mother and an Iranian father. Nasrine began her studies with African, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban percussion. After graduating in Musical Performance from the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, she embarked on the first of four trips to Cuba to further her studies in Latin percussion. Seeking to immerse herself in a culture more aligned with her passion for percussion, she decided to move to Spain, where she ultimately specialized in the flamenco cajón.
