Flamenco Guitar Workshop

Guitarist and composer Juan Gómez “Chicuelo” will host a flamenco guitar workshop on 27 April. This workshop is aimed at all types of musicians with some guitar knowledge. Chicuelo will provide exercises to enhance technique, precision, and compás.

Content:

– Fundamental techniques (arpeggio, picado, thumb, rasgueado)
– Compás por bulerías (12-beat rhythm)
– Falsetas (melodies)
– Various topics (depending on the progression of the workshop)

The workshop will take place in one day, with a total of 2.5 hours of training.

    Juan Gómez “Chicuelo” a flamenco guitarist and composer, he is one of the most influential artists in contemporary flamenco. He has accompanied singers like Miguel Poveda, Duquende, Enrique Morente, Carmen Linares, and Mayte Martin and has collaborated with dancers such as Israel Galván and Antonio Canales. His versatility extends into jazz, working with musicians like Chano Domínguez, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, and Raynald Colom.

    He is the award-winning author of two solo albums, “Cómplices” and “Diapasión”, and is acclaimed for his role as musical director of the musical “Tarantos”, which won the Max Award for Best Music. In 2019, he released his third solo album, “Uña y Carne”, and a new work with Marco Mezquida titled “No hay dos sin tres”. He is currently involved in the project “Caminos”, accompanied by three remarkable artists: Karen Lugo, Manel Fortià, and David Gomez.
