Flamenco Dance Workshop
On 27 April, dancer Karen Lugo will host a flamenco dance workshop. This workshop is open to three levels, allowing everyone to deepen their skills and immerse themselves in the art of flamenco.
Beginner Level:
This level focuses on technique, compás por tangos, and an adapted choreography.

Intermediate Level:
Designed for more experienced dancers, this level will cover technique, compás por alegrías, and adapted choreography.

Advanced Level:
Targeted at confirmed dancers, this level will address technique, compás por seguiriyas, and adapted choreography.

The workshop will be accompanied by singer Enrique Bermúdez “Piculabe”.
Technical details
Karen Lugo, a Mexican flamenco dancer and choreographer, she is renowned for her deep respect for flamenco tradition. She has collaborated with major artists like Pepe Habichuela, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent and Silvia Pérez Cruz. Karen has won several prestigious awards for her choreography, including at the Spring Film Festival in Barcelona and the International Festival of Almería.
In collaboration with José Maldonado, she created the show “Fronteras” for the Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana company, which toured in the United States. Her latest work, “Golpe de Tierra”, was nominated for the Premis de la Crítica d’Arts Escèniques in the Best Solo Show category. She is currently a choreographer and performer in Juan Gómez Chicuelo’s production.
Enrique Bermudez “Piculabe”, a flamenco singer born in Madrid, he began his musical career in the choir of the Evangelical Church. Through a recording that made waves in flamenco communities, he met Juan José Suarez “Paquete,” recorded his first track, and signed with Universal Music.
He has collaborated with renowned international artists such as Jorge Pardo and Tomatito, and his discography includes “Camino y tiempo” (2008) and “Canta y sueña” (2012). Since 2012, he has been invited by the Antonio Gades company for various performances worldwide, appearing in prestigious venues like the National Theatre of Beijing and the Roman Theatre of Verona. In 2014, guitarist Juan Carmona invited him to join his international tour.
